Lost and Found

Thousands of items are reported Lost and Found during the Fair. Our Guest Services team makes every effort to reunite guests with their lost items.

DID YOU LOSE SOMETHING AT THE FAIR?

REPORTING YOUR LOST ITEM
If you realize you've lost an item at the Fair, and you are still at the San Diego County Fair, visit Guest Services (East Grandstand, first floor) to file a Lost Item report.

If you are no longer at the Fair, call (858) 794-1124 and leave a voicemail message — Speak Clearly! — and include the following information:
  • What date you lost the item
  • The item you lost; with a detailed description
  • Your first and last name. Please spell out your first and last name.
  • Your phone number
  • If you already filed a Lost Item report while at the Fair, tell us the report date and report number.
  • If you lost a cell phone, please include the phone brand (such as Samsung, iPhone, etc.) and the phone service (such as AT&T or Verizon), as well as any other information that will help identify your phone (such as distinctive case or custom decoration)
  • If you lost keys, please include the approximate number of keys; if it is a keyless fob; whether they are car, home, or office keys; and whether there is a key ring or decorative item. If so, describe the decorative item; and other detailed information that will help identify which set of lost keys are yours.
CLAIMING YOUR FOUND ITEM — FAIRTIME
If you've received notification from Guest Services that they may have found your lost item, this is how to return to the Fair to claim it, and get a refund for parking and admission:
  • Drive past the main parking lot entrance and proceed to the Ride Share lot — Look for the Purple Banners. Park in the Ride Share lot.
  • Proceed to the Will Call booth at the O'Brien Gate entrance. Tell the Will Call staff you are going to Guest Services to retrieve an item. You will have to buy a ticket, CASH ONLY (This will be refunded to you when you return.)
  • Go to the Guest Services office (East Grandstand, first floor) to retrieve your item.
  • Return to the Will Call booth for your refund.
  • Return to your car. You will have 45 minutes; cars parked in the Ride Share lot longer than 1 hour may be towed.
Or, you can come to the Fairgrounds to pick up your item by appointment on a "dark day" (Mondays or Tuesdays during the Fair season), or after the Fair has ended for the season. Please call Guest Services at (858) 794-1124 for an appointment.

CLAIMING YOUR FOUND ITEM – ONCE THE FAIR HAS ENDED
Please call Guest Services at (858) 794-1124 for an appointment.

All unclaimed items will be donated in September.
