Homemade Wine

Win awards for your homemade wine

Amateur winemakers compete for medals, ribbons and awards in the 2019 San Diego County Fair Homemade Wine competitive exhibit.

Winners’ wine will be displayed at the Fair in the Paul Ecke Jr. Garden Show’s Wine Nook exhibit. Commercial vintners — and those who aspire to be — will want to check out The Toast of the Coast wine festival on Saturday, June 8, 2019.

The Fine Print

Have questions about entering this exhibit? Here are some answers. For details, see the Entry Information.

All amateur winemakers 21 and older. You may not enter if you have applied for State or Federal licensing, or are a professional winemaker. The Fair has a separate competition for professionals, called The Toast of the Coast.

The processing fee is $20 per entry. Processing fees are non-refundable.

You may enter as many classes as you wish. Entries consist of one full standard 750ml bottle. Additional bottling requirements apply, so be sure to read the Entry Information.
