Kids and teens can create something wonderful, and enter it to win recognition, ribbons and donated awards in the Creative Youth competitive exhibit at the San Diego County Fair.
This exhibit is open to individuals and members of youth organizations between the ages of 5 and 17.
We’re moving! In 2020, Creative Youth and Best of PreK-6th Grade are moving to the West Grandstand, where Student Showcase and Home & Hobby are. We’re excited, because creativity from all generations will be on display in the same area!
Enter A Contest
Enter one of the Creative Youth Contests. Have fun with your cooking or craft skills (and get free admission to the Fair when you enter)!
Entries are judged in a closed, blind session using the Danish System. The judging process compares each exhibit on its own merit against a recognized standard. Coordinators reserve the right to transfer an entry to the correct class if needed. The decision of the judges is final. First- and second-place ribbons will be awarded as merited. Additionally, several divisions have special awards.
If you entered the 2020 Creative Youth Competition we have contacted you directly with information regarding your entries. Get in touch if you have further questions.
We look forward to seeing you in the 2021 competition, where we will continue our “Heroes Unite!” Fair theme. Use these 2020 entry materials as your guide—we plan on using the same divisions and classes.
Entry deadline: Friday, May 8, 2020. Entry delivery: Varies according to division. Please see Entry Information. Exhibit dates: June 5-July 5, 2020. Awards Ceremony: Sunday, June 28, 2020. Entry pickup: Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
