Enter Your Classroom Projects

Elementary school teachers can enter your classroom work in the Best of K-6 Schools competitive exhibit at the San Diego County Fair.

Entry Information

Entry materials available: Mid-February, 2019.
Entry deadline: Wednesday, May 8, 2019.
Delivery of entries: Tuesday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Teachers with more than 100 entries, please contact the Entry Office for an appointment time, (858) 792-4207.
Exhibit dates: May 31-July 4, 2019.
Exhibit pick-up date: Friday, July 5, 2019.

Enjoy a free day at the Fair!

Thanks to Mission Federal Credit Union, all school staff working in San Diego County can enjoy a free day at the Fair, on selected Fridays (which also happen to be Kids’ Day). For all the details, please see the School Staff Appreciation Day page in the Deals and Discounts section.

Teachers of students in kindergarten through 6th grade, in schools located in San Diego County and Tijuana. Military youth programs also are eligible.

Individual students are not eligible for this exhibit, but should enter their work in Creative Youth. Teachers of 7th grade through community college may enter their classroom work in Student Showcase.

The processing fee is $15 per class. Processing fees are non-refundable. The entry fee includes a Fair admission ticket for the teacher and each child who participated in the entry, plus a rosette to display in your classroom.

Each student may enter one item or participate in one group project, with no more than 35 students in a group project.

Individual students are not eligible for this exhibit. Students aged 5-17 can enter individual projects in Creative Youth.

The Fair has many fun and educational programs for students in these grade levels; among them:

Field Trip Program: Bring your students to our one-day Summer STEAM Maker Festival during the Fair, with fun, hands-on learning.

Plant Grow EatElementary school students grow edible plants in their classrooms and bring them to the Fair for judging.

School Tours: The Fair comes to K-3 classrooms in April with a program of animals and activities.

One-Day Contests: Many of our one-day contests have an educational component, such as our Speech Contest or our Creative Youth Contests.
