The information below is from a previous Fair.
Jerry Martini and Phunne Stone bring to the San Diego County Fair the hits of the first interracial, intergender band in roll ‘n’ roll history, Sly & The Family Stone.
Martini is an original founding member of the band, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and R&B Pioneer Award winner. Stone is the daughter of Cynthia Robinson and Sly Stone. Featuring the powerful voice of Swang Stewart on vocals, the band brings a message of peace, love, and social consciousness through musical harmony. The group will continue the 50th anniversary celebration of Woodstock into 2019 with their classic hits such as: “I Want to Take You Higher,” “Everyday People,” “Dance To The Music,” “Hot Fun In The Summertime,” “Family Affair,” and “Sing a Simple Song.”
Keeping the legacy true to its original sound and raw funk groove, these Everyday People will leave you Taken Higher.
