2020 San Diego’s Got Talent applicants will be contacted by our Special Events Department to arrange participation in our 2021 competition.

New performance applications will be accepted beginning January 2021.

Youth and teens, ages 8 to 17 (as of June 1, 2020), who reside in the United States. The Youth Division is for ages 8 to 12, and the Teen Division is for ages 13 to 17.

Please see the Rules and Regulations for additional eligibility requirements.

Cash, trophies and bragging rights! Winners of each division get $1,000; second place gets $500; and third place gets $250.

Entrants submit links to their performances via YouTube or SoundCloud. Please see the Rules & Regulations for specific information regarding these performance videos.

Yes you can; however, please note that we ask for two different videos/sound clips which will be used for our online preliminary round. Please make sure that any media uploaded on the application works properly.

No. Because of the restraints of the online form, you must complete the application in the same sitting. Be sure to have your YouTube/SoundCloud link and payment information ready upon starting the application.

Yes, you will be sent an initial confirmation of your application. If you do not receive this, it could mean there was a problem with your application. Get in touch with us if you haven’t received confirmation two weeks after your submission.

Once the application deadline has passed, we will have a Selection Committee review all applications and the top contestants will be chosen to compete at the live round. We will contact finalists with additional information and a place to upload a bio that will be used by our Master of Ceremonies at the final round.

This is what can disqualify you from this contest:

  • Non-family friendly performances
  • Background vocals
  • Cursing or vile language in the music
  • Outfits that are too revealing
  • Not having music or lists in by the appropriate deadline
  • Any misconduct backstage or during the contest at any time
  • An incomplete application or non-functional links.
No, you do not need to perform any part of your audition, but you must stay within the parameters of your submitted material.

Yes, you are allowed to play an instrument, as long as it’s a quick and easy set-up and can plug into our PA system; e.g., guitar or keyboard. Please remember that any set-up time will be included in your stage/performance time. Don’t forget to mention in your application if you will be playing an instrument.

Each finalist is admitted to the Fair free, and will receive free admission for one chaperone, age 21 or older, who must be present at the time of check-in with the finalist. Each finalist will receive one parking pass.
